Mathematics Council Newsletter

From the Editor

M.C.A.T.A. is well into another year of operation. The Annual Conference is behind us. If you were there I am certain that you found many sessions and displays of particular interest.

Bob Michie and his committee are to be commended for putting together an excellent conference.

The 1984 Conference will be held in Red Deer on October 28th an d 29th. If you have ideas for sessions or speakers, please let a member of the executive know. Input from our members would really be appreciated.

The executive is searching for ways to provide service and to involve more teachers in mathematics  education. One of the ideas  that has been proposed is to organize a mini-conference in  an area other than that in  which the fall conferences are held, possibly in the  Peace River area, or in northeastern Alberta. If  there is interest in such a conference, we would like to  hear from interested parties  in order that the organization can begin.
