Everyone in a classroom is unique. Some students like mathematics; others do not. Mathematics comes easily for some; others struggle with it every step. For others, mathematics is a stress inducer, and others even see it as a punishment. Mathematics anxiety has been discussed periodically in the professional literature for several decades.
