Evaluation of the Tasks from Math Makes Sense 8

Mathematics tasks have been regarded as important for promoting students’ understanding in classroom teaching. However, there has not been much research that has closely examined tasks from textbooks or supporting resources that teachers use in daily teaching. This paper aims to evaluate the tasks from the math textbook Math Makes Sense 8 (Baron et al 2008), which has been adopted in Alberta, Canada.
