Join MCATA for an inspiring day celebrating A Year of Curious Math through interactive sessions designed to spark curiosity and engagement in math.
In the opening session, “SNAP Math Fairs,” led by Lauren Dedieu, participants will dive into the world of student-driven math fairs. Discover how to create hands-on, interactive displays featuring intriguing puzzles, designed to engage and excite students of all levels. Gain insights into planning your own math fair that fosters a love for math and builds confidence in every student.
Later in the day, Sara Korman’s session, “Current Events in Math,” will guide educators in connecting math to real-world topics through data science and cross-curricular themes. Learn to create projects that not only captivate students but also meet curriculum outcomes, with a focus on authentic learning and effective assessment.
Whether you’re looking to cultivate mathematical curiosity or connect math to the world beyond the classroom, these sessions will equip you with tools, strategies, and fresh ideas.

Will each location have the same sessions? Do I spend all my money to go to Medicine Hat or do I wait for a close location?
MCATA
